IPL 2026: KKR star Varun Chakravarthy becomes 20th Indian Bowler to 200 T20 Wickets - Check Full List

Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakravarthy reached a prestigious milestone in the IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (April 19).

The KKR bowler picked up the wicket of RR batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on the day, which was the first breakthrough for the Knight Riders in the match. He also got the wicket of Dhruv Jurel soon after that. He ended up with a stellar figure of 3/14 in his four overs.

Varun Chakravarthy takes 200 T20 Wickets

With Sooryavanshi's wicket, Varun Chakravarthy now has 200 T20 Wickets to his name, 103 of which have come for the KKR in IPL. The 34-year-old has 73 T20I wickets for India as well in 45 matches, as he was recently part of the T20 World Cup-winning squad earlier this year.

Despite having a modest IPL 2026 campaign so far, Varun's return to wickets is extremely important for KKR, who are rooted at the bottom of the table. He got a couple in the last match against Gujarat Titans, and now a couple against RR will boost his confidence.

Varun is also the 20th Indian bowler to 200 T20 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal has the most wickets in the format for an Indian with 387 scalps.
