Rajasthan Royals are set to play Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 opener at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, and ahead of that, a hilarious video on social media is making rounds.

RR, under their new captain Riyan Parag, took their flight to Guwahati recently, and ahead of the season opener, an unusual challenge was thrown to their new signing, Ravi Bishnoi.

Bishnoi, who joined the Royals in the IPL 2026 auction, was asked for a challenge as a part of the plan to defeat the Punjab Kings. In the video, it can be seen that Bishnoi is being asked to spell the name Guwahati, the city which will be their home for two IPL matches this season.

Bishnoi throws Arshdeep a Big Challenge

Bishnoi, historically, once failed to spell Guwahati while playing for India, and Arshdeep Singh was the one who released the video on social media.

This time, the RR spinner managed to get it almost correct this time, but simultaneously threw a bigger challenge to Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh.

In the video, Bishnoi can be seen challenging to spell 'Czechoslovakia', a former European country. The RR spinner can be heard saying Arshdeep to spell it while he struggles to pronounce it.

RR, on their Instagram post, even tagged Arshdeep Singh, and it is to be seen how the Punjab Kings pacer responds to it.

Ravi Bishnoi to play key role at RR

Bishnoi was signed by Rajasthan Royals for ₹7.20 crore at the IPL 2026 mini-auction held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, 2025. He entered the auction with a base price of ₹2 crore, triggering an intense 27-bid battle involving Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad before RR sealed the deal.

For RR, Bishnoi will play a key role as a frontline wrist-spinner in the middle overs, forming a potent spin combination alongside Ravindra Jadeja. His googlies, sharp leg-breaks, and variations make him a match-winner in T20 cricket. A former world No. 1 T20I bowler with 72 IPL wickets from 77 matches, Bishnoi adds experience and home-ground advantage.
