IPL 2026: RCB Head Coach Andy Flower in Trouble, Gets Sanctioned after Heated Argument
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower has been slapped with a 15% match-fee penalty after breaching Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct during Sunday's high-stakes clash against Mumbai Indians (MI).
The incident took place in the 18th over when Flower was seen speaking aggressively to the fourth umpire.

The Zimbabwean legend, who accepted the Level 1 offence without contest, was reportedly upset over an on-field decision - believed to be the non-awarding of a boundary - that added to the mounting tension in the dugout. Dinesh Karthik, also in the RCB coaching setup, appeared equally displeased in visuals circulating on social media.
Article 2.3 of the IPL's Code of Conduct deals with audible obscenity or inappropriate language that can be heard by spectators or captured on broadcast. While such Level 1 breaches are relatively common, the high-profile nature of the match and Flower's visible frustration made the moment stand out.
Flower, a former Zimbabwe captain and one of the most respected coaches in world cricket, has been instrumental in RCB's resurgence this season. His no-nonsense approach has helped the team stay competitive in a tightly contested IPL 2026, but the fine serves as a reminder of the strict behavioural standards enforced by the league.
RCB win a Thriller
In a last-ball thriller at Raipur, RCB chased down 167 to beat MI by 2 wickets with zero balls to spare. Krunal Pandya starred with a gritty 73 off 46 balls despite battling cramps, while the lower order held their nerve. Bhuvneshwar Kumar sealed the win with a massive six in the final over.
MI posted 166/7 earlier, with the game swinging dramatically in the death overs. The victory kept RCB alive in the playoff race while effectively ending MI's campaign. The win took Bengaluru at the top of the IPL 2026 points table, who are now closer to playoffs qualification.
