IPL 2026: Saba Karim Praises Heinrich Klaasen After SRH's Win Over PBKS
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have officially climbed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table following a commanding 33-run victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 49 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
After being put into bat, SRH posted a massive 235/4, heavily boosted by aggressive starts and a solid middle-order anchor. In response, PBKS struggled during the chase, and despite a historic, lone-warrior century from young Cooper Connolly (107* off 59), they fell short, finishing at 202/7.

The cornerstone of the Sunrisers' mammoth total was an exceptional innings from their South African powerhouse, Heinrich Klaasen. Coming in after the rapid opening cameos of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, Klaasen took charge of the middle overs. He perfectly balanced caution with aggression, smashing a crucial 69 off 43 deliveries. His ability to negotiate the spin and continuously find the boundaries ensured SRH maintained a high run rate and set an insurmountable target.
Speaking on Star Sports' 'Amul Cricket Live', JioStar expert Saba Karim thoroughly analyzed Heinrich Klaasen's massive impact on the game, highlighting not just his run-scoring, but his mentorship within the squad.
Praising the South African's approach, Karim stated, "He looks extremely self-assured and brings that assurance to the dressing room when he walks out to bat. Even after getting out early in the previous game, he has shown how much work he has put in, especially against quality spin. He picks the length very early, is extremely comfortable off the back foot, and generates significant power. Batting at No. 4, he understands the responsibility to bat long. He has also played a key role in guiding younger players like Nitish and Salil, giving them confidence and clarity. He has fulfilled his role for SRH exceptionally well."
Heinrich Klaasen's brilliant 69-run knock proved to be the ultimate difference-maker in a high-scoring thriller, cementing his status as one of the most reliable middle-order enforcers in the league.
As SRH looks to maintain their dominance at the summit of the IPL 2026 table, Klaasen's vital runs and invaluable leadership will be critical. Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings must quickly find a way to plug their batting and bowling leaks if they wish to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
