IPL 2026: Sai Sudharsan gets Out Hit Wicket against RR, creates Multiple Records with Bizarre Dismissal

Sai Sudharsan has become the first player to get dismissed hit wicket in back-to-back IPL matches as he suffered a cruel fate against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 encounter.

At the personal score of 58, Sai lost his wicket in the most bizarre fashion in the bowling of Brijesh Sharma.

Faced with a daunting target, the Gujarat Titans needed a strong, stable start from their prolific opening partnership. And after a fantastic start, Sudharsan and Gill stitched a huge partnership, before the former's wicket.

While attempting to negotiate a delivery, Sudharsan accidentally disturbed his own stumps, bringing his crucial knock to an abrupt end. A low full toss from Brijesh Sharma was met superbly and got a boundary, but the bat directly fell onto the stumps.

First Player to get Hit Wicket Twice in IPL

Sai Sudharsan has now become the first player to be hit wicket twice in IPL, that also in same season and also in back-to-back matches. The southpaw was dismissed in the last match against RCB in Qualifier 1, and now has got dismissed again in the same fashion.

Most Hit Wickets in T20 Cricket

Sai Sudharsan has now also equalled most hit wicket dismissals in T20 cricket as it was his 3rd dismissal in the fashion, all in IPL. Along with Sai, Andre Russell and Shoaib Malik have also been dismissed thrice in the same fashion.
