IPL 2026: Sanju Samson becomes 10th Player to score 5000 IPL Runs, joins Elite List

Sanju Samson has become the 10th player in the history of Indian Premier League to score 5000 runs in the competition.

The Chennai Super Kings player got to the milestone in the ongoing match between CSK and GT at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.

Sanju scored 11 runs off 15 deliveries before dismissal, but got to the milestone as he required only 3 runs to achieve it. With this, Samson is only the 10th player over the years to reach the prestigious milestone.

Sanju Samson has so far scored 304 runs in this IPL season and is looking strong. He has already racked up two centuries for CSK, thus becoming the first player to multiple centuries in a single IPL season for the five-time IPL champions.

Virat Kohli continues to lead the runs chart in the IPL with 8989 runs. Apart from Sanju, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina are other CSK players to have crossed 5000 runs.
