The IPL 2026 trade window has witnessed several exciting and strategic player moves ahead of the upcoming season, reflecting franchise recalibrations to strengthen squads before the mini auction in December 2025.

The key trade deals confirmed so far highlight major player swaps and acquisitions that could significantly impact team dynamics.

One of the marquee trades is the blockbuster swap between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals' wicketkeeper-batsman and a key figure for the team, has been traded to CSK for his league fee of Rs 18 crore. In exchange, RR has acquired the legendary all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from CSK, whose league fee has been revised from Rs 18 crore to Rs 14 crore, as well as Sam Curran, also moved from CSK to RR for Rs 2.4 crore. This trade is notable for involving two high-profile Indian players and promises to add a new chapter to their IPL careers.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have actively strengthened their squad with multiple trades. They have secured all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 2 crore. Additionally, the powerful West Indian finisher Sherfane Rutherford has been traded from Gujarat Titans (GT) to MI at his auction price of Rs 2.6 crore. These additions give Mumbai Indians added depth in their batting and bowling departments.

Mohammed Shami, the veteran Indian pacer, has moved from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to Lucknow Super Giants. LSG had bought him for Rs 10 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, but his performance was below expectations. This switch also frees up salary purse space for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
