IPL 2026: Yashasvi Jaiswal Enters Elite Company with 20th Fifty-Plus Score for Rajasthan Royals
Yashasvi Jaiswal continues to cement his legacy as one of the modern-day greats for the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
During the highly anticipated 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), the dynamic southpaw reached a massive personal milestone.

The milestone came during a monumental run chase. Chasing a daunting target of 223 set by the Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Rajasthan Royals desperately needed a flying start. Jaiswal delivered exactly that. Opening the batting alongside youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal took the attack to the PBKS bowling lineup right from the powerplay.
While Sooryavanshi went ballistic at the other end (smashing 43 off just 16 balls), Jaiswal perfectly balanced aggression with pure timing. He dispatched the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Lockie Ferguson to all parts of the ground, bringing up his half-century in rapid time to keep the required run rate in check.
Jaiswal's brilliant innings of 51 off 27 balls laced with boundaries and effortless sixes laid down a formidable foundation for the Royals.
By securing his 20th fifty-plus score in just his 75th IPL innings, Jaiswal surpassed Ajinkya Rahane (19) and Shane Watson (16), placing himself right behind franchise legends Jos Buttler (25) and Sanju Samson (25) on the all-time list.
Most 50-plus scores for RR in IPL:
25 - Jos Buttler (82 inns)
25 - Sanju Samson (144 inns)
20 - Yashasvi Jaiswal (75 inns)
19 - Ajinkya Rahane (93 inns)
16 - Shane Watson (76 inns)
His spectacular knock was finally brought to an end in the 12th over when he was outfoxed by former teammate Yuzvendra Chahal. Attempting to go big to keep the momentum alive, Jaiswal miscued a slower delivery and was caught at long-off by Suryansh Shedge.
Though his dismissal gave PBKS a crucial breakthrough in the match, Jaiswal's 51-run blitz was enough to etch his name further into the Rajasthan Royals record books. At just 24 years old, reaching 20 fifty-plus scores in 75 innings is a testament to his incredible consistency and aggressive strike rate at the top of the order.
If Jaiswal continues this rich vein of form in IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals will remain a terrifying prospect for any bowling attack.
