IPL 2025 Mega Auction Unsold Players: The IPL 2025 mega auction started in Jeddah on Sunday (November 24). The two-day mega event ahead of the next Indian Premier League cycle brings a significant opportunity for cricketers worldwide to be part of the most lucrative franchise tournament.
A total of 204 slots are available, including 70 specifically for overseas players in the auction.

A diverse pool of 577 players are set to participate, which includes 48 capped Indian players and 195 capped overseas players, alongside three from associate nations. The list also features 319 uncapped Indian players and 12 uncapped overseas players, reflecting the IPL's dedication to discovering and nurturing new talent. Among these participants, 367 are from India while 210 come from abroad.
The IPL 2025 mega auction's first day is going to determine the fate of 84 players. The first six sets of the players are up for bidding and there are 46 capped and 38 uncapped players up for auction.
Lucknow Super Giants roped in Rishabh Pant for a record Rs 27 crore deal in the auction. Punjab Kings made headlines at the IPL 2025 auction by signing Shreyas Iyer for a record Rs 26.75 crore and securing Yuzvendra Chahal for Rs 18 crore. Gujarat Titans also made key purchases, including Mohammed Siraj for Rs 12.25 crore, while Sunrisers Hyderabad snapped up Mohammed Shami for Rs 10 crore. KL Rahul, former Lucknow Super Giants captain, joined Delhi Capitals on a Rs 14 crore deal.
Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings dominated the marquee player selections, each acquiring three top names. Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals secured two marquee players each.
Along with the sold players, contrastingly, a few of the big names have gone unsold on the first day of the auction.
Devdutt Padikkal was the first unsold player of the IPL 2025 auction. The Indian batter hasn't found a team in the first round of the auction but may come back later in the mega event. Australian veteran David Warner has also gone unsold, while veteran India spinner Piyush Chawla, English star Jonny Bairstow have also not found a team.
