IPL Auction 2025: Five Players who will be RTM Targets for RCB in Mega Auction

By MyKhel Staff

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will have their sights firm for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction as they look to end their trophy duck.

The Bengaluru outfit retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore and Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore. Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal was also kept for Rs 5 crore, which means that RCB's auction purse will be a healthy Rs 83 crore, the second-most among all teams.

RTM Targets for RCB

As RCB retained only three players, they will have a chance to bring back 3 more of their released players through the Right to Match (RTM) card in the mega auction. There are many players who performed well last season as RCB qualified for the playoffs, but were put in the released list. With a fat auction purse in their hand, the Bengaluru team management will be aiming to get back at least a couple of their former players ahead of the new IPL cycle.

Who can be RCB's RTM Targets in IPL 2025 Mega Auction?

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj's release was an eyebrow-raising incident but the India pacer can make a swift return to the RCB squad. Bengaluru may want to use the RTM card for Siraj, who has been a top-notch performer for the franchise over the years. Although Siraj's recent form has been concerning, if RCB get him at a preferred price, they will use the RTM on him.

Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror's exploits with RCB has been limited but the Indian southpaw is a dangerous batter who has shown his might in instances for Bengaluru. Lomror is in excellent form as well, fresh from a scintillating triple century in the Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan. The young player has enormous potential and RCB will be inclined to restore his services with the RTM card.

Vijaykumar Vyshak

Local Karnataka boy Vijaykumar Vyshak was roped in as a replacement player in IPL 2023, but he surprised the world with his excellent bowling skills. The Karnataka boy announced himself in style, with 9 wickets in seven matches. Although Vyshak's IPL 2024 campaign was not up to the mark (4 wkts in 4 matches), RCB may be inclined to integrate him in their squad for the upcoming seasons. His accuracy and adaptability can bore excellent results for the Bengaluru outfit.

Will Jacks

Will Jacks is tipped to be one of the most fancied players who may return to RCB via RTM card. Jacks had a fantastic IPL 2024 for the Bengaluru team as he amassed 230 runs at a strike rate of 175. His presence at the middle order ensures the firepower in the RCB lineup and they would definitely look to buy the England player back from the auction.

Glenn Maxwell

Australia star Glenn Maxwell had a dismal season in IPL 2024. He scored 52 runs in the entire season at an average of 5.78, and picked up 6 wickets with his spin bowling. A signing at Rs 11 crore, Maxwell had a shocking outing and was rightfully released. But the Australian is gaining some momentum back with the national team. Given his class and name, Maxwell won't have a shortage of takers, and if he comes cheap, RCB may exercise their RTM card.
