Hazlewood\'s addition comes as a significant boost for RCB, who have long struggled with their bowling unit. Known for his precision and ability to deliver in crunch moments, Hazlewood brings a wealth of experience and proven credentials to lead RCB\'s attack.

The 32-year-old Australian, a veteran of over 100 T20 matches and a key figure in Australia's 2021 T20 World Cup triumph, is expected to be a cornerstone of RCB's ambitions for the IPL 2025 season.

Josh Hazlewood's Huge Pay-rise

The INR 12.50 crore deal marks a substantial pay rise for Hazlewood, whose previous contract with RCB was valued at INR 7.75 crore. He will earn almost six times his base price.

Hazlewood was initially part of the Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2014 but didn't feature in any matches that season. After a long hiatus from the IPL due to injuries and workload management, Hazlewood made his debut for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2020. Although he played only three games that year, his potential was evident.

The following season Hazlewood claimed 11 wickets for CSK. The consecutive season saw him signing for Virat Kohli\'s team and it turned out to be his best decision.

Hazlewood delivered his best IPL season, taking 20 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 18.85. His performances were pivotal in bolstering RCB's bowling attack. But in IPL 2023, he was limited to just three matches due to an Achilles injury. He did not feature in IPL 2024 due to personal reasons.
