A late twist in the tale in the IPL 2025 mega auction list as England pacer Jofra Archer has included his name for the two-day extravaganza.
As the IPL 2025 auction takes place on Sunday and Monday in Jeddah, a total of 574 players have been added to the final shortlist for the event.

Some top names missed out on the auction - including Cameron Green, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. But the latter has recently reversed his stance and is set to part of the mega auction.
In a dramatic turn of events, the England fast bowler has confirmed his participation in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Archer, initially absent from the list of 37 England players registered for the auction, reversed his decision after recovering from a series of injuries.
The 29-year-old pacer had opted out earlier to focus on preparations for the Ashes in Australia next year, as the new IPL regulations would have barred him from participating in the mini-auction. However, following negotiations involving the ECB, BCCI, and player agents, Archer secured a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ECB to rejoin the pool of 574 players set for the auction.
Cricket broadcaster Matt Kabir Floyd highlighted the initial confusion surrounding Archer's availability, stating, "Mark Wood and Jofra Archer were on the initial longlist but weren't shortlisted as the ECB initially denied them NOCs. Negotiations are ongoing to address this issue."
Archer, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹8 crore in the last mega auction, has been plagued by injuries. He missed the 2022 season entirely and played only four matches in 2023 before another elbow injury ruled him out. Despite these setbacks, Archer's ability to deliver fiery spells ensures he remains a sought-after asset.
Despite past injury concerns, Archer's participation is likely to spark a bidding war, given his raw pace and proven match-winning abilities. As the countdown begins, all eyes will be on the Jeddah auction to see which franchise secures this dynamic pacer.
The former MI pacer has played 40 IPL matches over the years and has picked up 48 wickets.
