A maximum of 204 slots including 70 overseas player slots can be filled across the two days of the IPL Mega Auction 2025, scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday (November 24) and Monday (November 25).
As per the player regulation rules, each team was allotted a total purse of INR 120 crore - 20 percent more than last year - to build a squad of a maximum of 25 players, including eight overseas cricketers, for the upcoming IPL 2025.

All 10 teams were also allowed to retain a maximum of 6 players (maximum of 5 capped and a maximum of 2 uncapped). This could be either via direct retentions or by using the Right to Match (RTM) card at the big auction.
Retention of players also were set at fixed slabs with the top retention costing Rs 18 Crore followed by Rs 14 Crore and Rs 11 Crore, while the third and fourth retention of capped player cost Rs 18 Crore and Rs 14 Crore respectively. An uncapped retention cost Rs 4 Crore.
With their pre-auction retentions costing a cumulative sum of INR 79 crore, the Rajasthan Royals are left with a budget of INR 41 Crore - the lowest among all the teams - to build the rest of the squad at the IPL 2025 auction.
Apart from Royals, the Kolkata Knight Riders also retained six players before the IPL 2025 auction, but have a remaining purse of Rs 51 Crore. Both teams will not be able to use Right-to-Match (RTM) cards during the auction.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have the highest remaining purse for IPL 2025 with INR 110.5 Crore as they retained only two uncapped players from their previous squad. They also have four RTM cards at their disposal, the most among teams, during the IPL 2025 auction.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru has the second biggest purse of Rs 83 Crore, having retained only three players, including one uncapped player during the retention deadline day earlier this year.
With Rs 73 Crore remaining funds, Delhi Capitals is the third richest franchise heading into the auction. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are the next in line with Rs 69 Crore each remaining purse.
Having retained MS Dhoni as an uncapped player among their five retentions, Chennai Super Kings entered the auction with Rs 55 Crore remaining in their budget, while Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians have the joint second lowest at Rs 45 Crore each.
PBKS, LSG and GT splashed the cash in the first two sets with Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal and Arsdheep Singh were the biggest buys. Here is a look at the IPL Auction 2025 remaining purse of all teams after the first 12 sets on day 1:
