In the mega auction of IPL 2025, RCB got their first signing by buying the English all-rounder Liam Livingstone for a price of Rs. 8.75 crore. Livingstone was released by PBKS ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and he has been grouped into the second set of marquee players for a base price of Rs. 2.00 crore.
RCB entered the auction with a humongous purse value of Rs. 83 crore, as they have retained only three players, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. Hence, they were expected to go for a big all-rounder in the mega event at Jeddah.

The inclusion of Livingstone will add extra depth to the RCB batting line-up and also solve the problem of having quality all-rounders in their squad. After signing Liam Livingstone RCB has purse value of Rs. 74.25 crore left.
Liam Livingstone made his IPL debut in 2019, joining the Rajasthan Royals. A powerful middle-order batsman and a handy bowler, Livingstone quickly became known for his explosive hitting ability, particularly in T20s. In 2022, Livingstone was signed by PBKS for a price of 11.50 crore.
He played an instrumental role in PBKS's batting line-up, showcasing versatility by adapting to different positions based on the match situation. His bowling, though less frequently used, provided the team with an additional option in the middle overs.
Livingstone’s all-round skills and consistency in the middle order were pivotal in the team’s attempt to challenge for the playoffs, though PBKS fell short. His IPL performances solidified his reputation as one of the most exciting and destructive players in T20 cricket. As of 2024, he remains a key figure in PBKS, continuing to contribute with both bat and ball in the tournament.
