The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly considering a new country along with Saudi Arabia as the location for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction 2025.
According to a report by CricBuzz, the BCCI and IPL officials have considered Singapore as the venue for the big auction, scheduled to be held next month. The report also added that Saudi Arabia also remains under consideration.

Earlier reports had suggested the IPL auction will be staged overseas for the second year in the row after the 2024 edition took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Reports claimed Saudi Arabia's cities Riyadh and Jeddah could be one of the locations, but the higher costs is possibly holding up a final decision on the venue by the BCCI.
Now, a recent report has added Singapore into the mix with a decision likely to made in the next few weeks as franchise plan on their retentions ahead of the mega auction, which is set to be held in the last week of November.
The new rules for retention and salary caps makes the IPL 2025 auction a much interesting one compared to the previous editions. So, the location and dates for the bidding process will be much anticipated by fanatics and experts.
The IPL 2024 Auction was a first in the league history when the bidding process was held outside India, and the same could be the case for the next edition. The previous IPL auctions were mostly held in Bengaluru and Mumbai with Goa and Kochi also playing hosts in one of the editions.
The first-ever auction in 2008 was held in two stages and both the auctions were held in Mumbai, while the IPL auction has very often been held in Bengaluru. Here is a look at the IPL Auction Venue over the years:
