Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 39 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Batting first, LSG put up a huge total of 235/2 after 20 overs of play and in reply, GT fell short by 33 runs as they were restricted to 202/9.

At 182 for 3 after 16 overs, Gujarat needed 54 runs from 24 balls-challenging, but not out of reach with their big-hitters still at the crease. With the match finely poised, Rishabh Pant brought back William O'Rourke for his final spell, a move that would soon tilt the game decisively.
O'Rourke's first delivery was short and angled at the pads. Rutherford, already on 38 with three sixes to his name, tried to flick it over deep mid-wicket but mistimed the shot. Ravi Bishnoi, on as a substitute, judged the catch perfectly and dived forward to take it cleanly.
The pressure was on. A couple of singles came next, but the final ball of the over proved just as decisive. It was a simple length delivery, but Rahul Tewatia, aiming for a big hit down the ground, failed to connect cleanly. The result: a straightforward catch to Himmat Singh at long-on.
O'Rourke had struck twice in the over. With Rutherford and Tewatia-Gujarat's last major finishers-back in the pavilion, their chase unraveled. The game had slipped beyond their reach.
