IPL Fixing: BCCI chief's son-in-law to be grilled

Chennai, May 22: A day after Vindoo Dara Singh's arrest in connection with IPL spot fixing scandal, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) owner and BCCI Chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan may face the heat of the crisis.

Mumbai Police, Crime Branch, is likely to grill Meiyappan following statement of Vindoo who reportedly has confessed to be in touch with one of the relatives of Meiyappan.

A Mumbai Police official was quoted as saying, "Vindoo made several calls to this relative of the Chennai IPL owner. We may call the person in question to ascertain the reasons why these frequent calls were made."

Investigation in the fixing scandal is getting murkier day by day. CSK is going to play the final match of IPL season 6 on Sunday, May 26. The match would be spoilt if links between its owner and bookies are unearthed.

Mumbai Police official, however, claimed that it was "too premature" to conclude that the relative of the high-profile owner of the Chennai franchise had links with the betting syndicate.
