IPL: Vindoo tried to bribe, fix Adam Gilchrist too?

Bangalore, June 1: Mumbai Police, which is investigating the IPL spot fixing scandal, informed that Vindoo Dara Singh might have tried to fix two cricketers of King's XI Punjab. The two cricketers were -- Adam Gilchrist and Manpreet Gony.

Media report quoted one of the Mumbai cops as saying, "Some months ago, Vindoo had invited Manpreet Gony and Adam Gilchrist to the launch of an electronic product in Mumbai, where expensive watches were gifted to the attendees."

"He (Vindoo) was trying to strike a close friendship with them in an attempt to use them in the future but they were not very responsive," added the officer.

According to police, Vindoo had powerful contacts with cricketers, umpires, different team officials. The Bollywood actor, who was arrested over his alleged role in fixing row, was learnt to be engaged in betting and fixing since 1990.

The small time actor, a winner of TV reality show Bigg Boss, reportedly had passed secrets information regarding players and team strategies to bookies.

Vindoo's arrest was followed by several shocking revelations which led to the arrest of Gurunath Meiyappan. The son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team principal allegedly had placed bets on many IPL matches.
