Most Hundreds & Fastest Centuries in IPL: Which Player Dominates The Lists in Indian Premier League?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen many individual performances over the years, especially with the bat as some have smashed centuries and fifties in very quick time. In total, 90 hundreds have been struck in the IPL so far.

In fact, the first-ever match itself witnessed a century as Brendon McCullum smashed the first-ever hundred in Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, there have been several memorable knocks featuring Chris Gayle, who is the only player to breach 150-mark in IPL so far.

IPL Hundreds list

Among the 90 IPL centuries, 49 different players have breached the three-figure mark with star India batter topping the list, while five overseas players along with four more Indian batters also featuring in the top 10 list for most hundreds in IPL:

Most Hundreds in IPL history

  • 8 - Virat Kohli
  • 6 - Chris Gayle, Jos Buttler

Virat Kohli surpassed Gayle for most hundreds in IPL with two centuries in 2023 season. The star India batter representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru extend his record in 2024 season with the first century of the campaign. Jos Buttler scored a century in the same match to join Gayle with six hundreds in IPL.

Meanwhile, the likes of Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and David Warner, who are not far behind, will look to surpass that tally, but it's unlikely that the fastest hundred record held by the former West Indies opener will be breached. Gayle achieved the feat on a record-breaking evening in Bengaluru.

Some players have come close, but have never been able to reach the three-figure mark as quick as Gayle. Former India batter Yusuf Pathan and South African batter David Miller are the other two players to reach the feat within 40 balls in IPL. Here is a look at the fastest hundreds in IPL:

Fastest Centuries in IPL

  • 30 balls by Chris Gayle (RCB) vs Pune Warriors India in 2013 (Bengaluru)
