Mumbai Indians Released Players List: MI continued to their formula of retaining their match-winning core as the five-time champions retained most of their Indian star names while dropping all their overseas players on the deadline day of IPL Retention 2025.
We take a look at the entire list of players, who were dropped on the day, including Ishan Kishan, who will now enter the IPL mega auction next month.

Among the names dropped, Ishan Kishan had a stellar performance in the IPL 2024 season, playing 14 matches and scoring 320 runs with an impressive strike rate of 148.84. His highest score was 35, and he hit 16 fours along with 5 sixes.
Tim David contributed significantly as well, featuring in 13 matches and amassing 241 runs at a strike rate of 158.55, with a top score of 14 and 15 fours along with 6 sixes. Hardik Pandya, who played 14 innings, scored 216 runs at a strike rate of 143.05, registering a highest score of 17, complemented by 11 fours and 7 sixes.
Naman Dhir emerged as a notable player, making the most of his opportunities in 7 matches with 140 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 177.22, achieving a highest score of 12 and hitting 10 fours along with 8 sixes. Nehal Wadhera featured in 6 matches, scoring 109 runs at a strike rate of 129.76, with a highest score of 9, including 6 fours and 6 sixes. Dewald Brevis had a brief stint, playing 3 matches and scoring 69 runs at a strike rate of 116.95, with a highest score of 3 and 5 sixes. Romario Shepherd participated in 6 matches, accumulating 57 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 271.43, including 5 fours and 5 sixes.
Mohammad Nabi managed to score 35 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 112.90, while Piyush Chawla added 15 runs in 11 matches with a strike rate of 100.00. Gerald Coetzee, in 10 matches, could only score 14 runs at a strike rate of 63.64. Jasprit Bumrah, primarily known for his bowling prowess, contributed 12 runs in 13 matches, maintaining a strike rate of 100.00. Luke Wood, Akash Madhwal, Anshul Kamboj, and Shams Mulani had minimal contributions with the bat, scoring 9, 4, 2, and 1 run respectively in their limited appearances.
On the bowling front, Piyush Chawla was a standout performer, playing 11 matches and taking 13 wickets while conceding 210 runs, resulting in an economy rate of 19.09. Gerald Coetzee matched this with 13 wickets in 10 matches, conceding 201 runs at an economy of 20.10. Hardik Pandya contributed significantly as an all-rounder, claiming 11 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 18.00, having bowled 12 overs.
Nuwan Thushara played 7 matches, taking 8 wickets at an economy of 22.29. Akash Madhwal, in 5 matches, secured 5 wickets with an economy rate of 21.80. Shreyas Gopal had a successful outing with 3 wickets in 3 matches at an impressive economy of 14.00. Mohammad Nabi added 2 wickets in 7 matches with an economy rate of 12.33. Anshul Kamboj also took 2 wickets in 3 matches, while Romario Shepherd, Kwena Maphaka, and Luke Wood each managed to secure 1 wicket in their respective appearances.
