Wellington, Nov.19 : Wealthy owners of the eight Indian Premier League (IPL) teams are all keen to make a bid for New Zealand's latest cricket star Jesse Ryder despite his bad boy reputation.
According to Archivestuff, the 24-year-old will be part of next year's IPL auction to be held on February 6, a placement that could earn him anything upwards from US200, 000 dollars a year for the next couple of years.
Of course Ryder has to be snapped up by one of the eight franchises before the big bucks roll in but the blockbusting batsman's Wellington-based agent Aaron Klee said there was considerable interest in his star pupil.
"We've got confirmation he is going to be in the auction, which is great for Jesse," Klee said.
