Louis D'or (Trinidad & Tobago), April 28: Iraq Thomas, a 23-year-old batsman from Tobago smashed a ton off just 21 balls in the Tobago Cricket Association's T20 torunament here last Sunday. Thomas, who was representing Scarborough/Mason Hall, remained unbeaten on 131 off just 31 balls to help his side successfully overhaul the opponent Speyside's sttep target of 152 in just eight overs.
Thomas hit 15 sixes and five fours during his stormy innings and three balls were lost after they were hit out of the ground.
Earlier in the day, the same batsman displayed another destructive hitting by scoring 97 off just 53 deliveries against Charlotteville and bettered his record in the next game.
It can be mentioned here for the fans' interest that the great Donald Bradman had also hit a hundred off just 24 balls in a local match in a newly laid pitch in Blackheath against the neighbouring Lithgow in November 1931. In those days, one over included eight balls and the cricketing giant took just three overs to complete his feat. He was eventually dismissed for 256 in that match.
