IRE vs IND: India without coach to Ireland for T20I series? Who will fly with team?

The Indian cricket team will be playing a three-match T20I series against Ireland which starts on August 18. The Indian team will start their journey for Ireland on 15th August as a second-string-heavy side will take part in the bilateral series.

A returning Jaspreet Bumrah will lead the Indian team as most of the first-team players are currently in the West Indies tour which continues till August 13. The Indian coach Rahul Dravid is in the Caribbean with the first team and won't be flying to Ireland.

And as some of the youngsters take part in the Ireland tour, they may have no head coach in Ireland. The Indian team will be flying to Dublin without a head coach.

For the Ireland series, former India player VVS Laxman was supposed to be the head of the coaching staff, but recent news suggests that Laxman may not travel with the Indian team.

Laxman, who has travelled with the Indian team before in the past, was poised to leave for Dublin, but recent suggestions say there is a change in plan. Instead of the former Indian batter, support staff members Sitanshu Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule will travel with the team.

The Indian team travelling for Ireland will be lead by Bumrah, who makes a return to the Indian team after almost a year layoff with injury. The pacer had a stress fracture to his lower back and missed the T20 World Cup last year, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, IPL 2023 and the WTC Final this year.
