What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and if anyone embodies this sentiment, it’s Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant! This cricketing dynamo made a comeback that could rival any Hollywood blockbuster in the 1st Test against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last week.
Now, let’s not forget about the one person who must have been beaming brighter than a Diwali lantern—his girlfriend, model Isha Negi.

Isha Negi: The Cheerleader Extraordinaire
On the day Pant notched up that magical hundred, Isha took to Instagram, and boy, did she make a splash! Her post featured a simple yet powerful three-word mantra: “Grateful, Thankful, Blessed.”
Now let’s be real, that could have easily been the tagline for a rom-com! Fans couldn’t help but feel that her heartfelt words were a nod to Pant’s miraculous return from a life-threatening car accident back in December 2022.
Pant's Emotional Journey
Rishabh, still riding high on his comeback, spoke to BCCI and revealed just how special this moment was for him. “Definitely a lot special. First, I love playing in Chennai, and secondly, after injury, I was looking to play all three formats. This was my first match in this format, and hopefully, I did better. Definitely emotional; I was looking to score runs in each and every game,” he said, probably fighting back tears while trying to sound tough as nails.
Pant’s journey back to Test cricket is nothing short of inspirational. “Coming back to Test cricket where I belong the most, being on the field gives me pleasure more than anything else,” he confessed as if he were reciting a heartfelt poem at an open mic night.
Strategic Moves on the Pitch
The wicketkeeper also laid out his game plan during some tricky moments. “I don’t know what people say outside; I tried to read the situation in my own way. When you are 30-3, you need to stitch a partnership, and that’s what I did with Gill. To do it with a guy who I have a great relationship with is special,” he added, giving us a peek into his strategy.
