The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have officially brought in a new era for the IPL 2026 season, appointing explosive wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan as their interim captain. The appointment was done due to a recurring lumbar stress back injury to regular skipper Pat Cummins. While the Australian star has joined the squad in India and resumed light training, head coach Daniel Vettori confirmed that Cummins is not yet "match-ready."
