'It's Their Job to Spread Fake News' - Amit Mishra Tells Mohammed Shami After Media Organization Provides False Information

By MyKhel Staff

Amit Mishra has joined Mohammed Shami in criticizing a media organization for providing false information about the latter "taking a brutal dig" at the former for his comments on Virat Kohli.

Shami had called on the media to confirm the authenticity of their sources before releasing any news related to the matter and Mishra said stop giving the "fake news" providers as well as attention seekers the satisfaction.

According to report published by the media outlet, Shami allegedly lashed out at Mishra for his supposed statements about Virat Kohli, adding that the Indian pacer reportedly even said Mishra had made the comments about Kohli for "fame and power".

Shami took to social media to raise his concerns regarding the spread of false information about compatriot Mishra, while Mishra himself said that's what these organizations thrive for.

"Disappointed to see false information circulating about Amit Mishra. It's a humble request to verify news sources before publishing," the Indian pacer, who is currently on his road to recovery from injury, posted on X, formerly Twitter.

In response to Shami's post, Mishra also said these fake news spreaders delete the content when they get called out only after they are able to make it go viral.

"Stop following agenda-driven sources like @news24tvchannel. Seriously, @mdshami11, it's their job to spread fake news, make it go viral, and then delete it once people call them out. They crave attention, and we shouldn't give them the satisfaction," Mishra posted on X.

Earlier, Mishra had triggered a huge debate on social media after he had suggested that Kohli has changed a lot over the years, with "fame and power" bringing about a big shift in his personality.

"I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those," Mishra had said during a podcast.

"I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat samosas, when he needed pizza every night. But there is a huge difference in the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli the captain."
