Former India captain Kapil Dev was bemused when asked about whether the India team should be travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
The ICC tournament is slated to take place in Pakistan in 2025. The Indian team has clearly stated that they won't be travelling to Pakistan and wants a Hybrid model of the tournament.

Although the counterparts in Pakistan are not happy with it, there is a chance that the tournament may shift its base from Pakistan for the India matches. Amid the tension between two neighbouring countries, Kapil Dev, at an event, was asked if India must travel to Pakistan for the tournament, and was visibly not happy with it. He opined the sole decision-maker will be the government.
"It's very unfair for you to ask me that question because it's government's responsibility. If the government says it's okay, then everything is fine. And people like us should not give our opinion. Our opinion makes no matter when the country decides something. Kapil Dev can't be bigger than anybody else," the India legend said at a Golf event.
Also the 1983 World Cup-winning captain was asked about India's chances in the 1st Test against Australia. When asked about Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill's unavailability, Kapil was not sure if Rohit was injured or unavailable for something else.
When cleared about Shubman's injury, Kapil Dev said, "We can't do anything about that, if they are unfit, they are unfit, you can't do anything."
Upon the question on if India can win the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the former captain came up with a very apathetic reply.
"I am nobody, I am just a good spectator like you," the India legend said.
Kapil was vocal about India's growing golf culture though. He spoke highly about the positive upsurge of Golf in the country and believes India will progress further in coming years.
