Jack Clarke elected as Cricket Australia Deputy Chairman
Sydney, June 15 (UNI) Cricket Australia (CA) today announced Jack Clarke as the Deputy Chairman of Cricket Australia's Board of Directors.
Mr Clarke, 53, has been a Cricket Australia Director since 1999, is Chairman of Cricket Australia's Playing Conditions Committee and sits on its Industrial Relations Committee.
CA Chairman Creagh O'Connor said Mr Clarke's appointment was an excellent result for Australian cricket.
''I'm delighted that the Board has elected Jack Clarke as Cricket Australia's Deputy Chairman. Jack has been a hard-working servant on behalf of Australian cricket for many years and I look forward to working with him to ensure the continued success of cricket in this country,'' Mr O'Connor said.
''I am very honoured to be elected Deputy Chairman,'' Mr Clarke said.
''I am looking forward to working with current Chairman Creagh O'Connor as Australian cricket looks to continue its success, most recently highlighted by victory at the ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies,'' Clarke added.
An Adelaide-based partner in national law firm Hunt&Hunt, Mr Clarke joined the South Australian Cricket Association in 1987.
He played cricket with the Glenelg District Cricket Club and St Peter's Old Collegians Cricket Club.
