Jai Moondra has made his international debut for Ireland against his country of birth, India. Born on January 10, 1997, in Tonk district, Rajasthan, Moondra showed early promise, representing his state at the Under-14 level. However, he stepped away from cricket to focus on academics. In 2021, he moved to Ireland on a student visa to pursue a Master’s degree in Technology while working a professional job.
How did he get a chance for Ireland?
His passion for the game was rekindled in Dublin, where he joined Leinster Cricket Club. Moondra quickly made an impression with consistent performances. In 2023, he played a pivotal role in helping Leinster win the Irish Senior Cup. His domestic T20 record for Leinster Lightning stands out, with 10 wickets in five matches at an impressive economy rate.
Having obtained Irish citizenship in 2025, Moondra became eligible to represent Ireland.
