J&K youth services & sports director congratulates state cricket team

Srinagar, Dec 11: Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, Navin Agarwal on Thursday congratulated the state cricket team for its historic win over 40-team Ranji champions Mumbai at the Wankhede Sadium in Mumbai. [J&K defeat Mumbai by 4 wickets, create history]

In a statement, Agarwal said the team made them proud by registering a historic win against a tough team and that too in their den. "It's indeed a great feat on part of Jammu and Kashmir cricket team and this win reflects how much the youth of this state possess talent," Agarwal said.

Agarwal, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association said the victory will inspire the youth to scale new heights in the future. He said the performance of the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team has improved consistently since last year.

Agarwal asked the sports officers to encourage budding talent in the state to produce more and more quality sportsmen from the state.

Praising J&K cricket team captain Parvez Rasool, Agarwal said Rasool is the product of youth services and sports department.

"Our department has played an essential role in shaping the career of many sportsmen from the state and Rasool played many under-19 tournaments under the guidance of our officers," Agarwal said.
