Jason Roy has rejected national call up to join the squad for the last two ODIs against Ireland after being dropped from England's World Cup 2023 squad on Sunday. The 33-year-old was brutally axed despite being named in England's provisional 15-member World Cup 2023 squad announced in August.
Youngster Harry Brook was named in the main squad at the expense of Jason Roy who failed to play in the four-match ODI series against New Zealand earlier this month due to back spasms.

Harry Brook and Dawid Malan made the most of the opportunity in Roy's absence and sealed their berth in England's World Cup squad.
Jason Roy was reportedly called to replace Joe Root, who is opting to take a scheduled break ahead of next month's World Cup, for the last two ODIs of the 3-match series.
After Roy rejected the opportunity to rejoin the England squad, Somerset's wicketkeeper-batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore was officially named as Joe Root's replacement.
Jason Roy, who has played 116 ODIs for England and scored 4271 runs at an average of 39.91 and a strike rate of 105.53, was dropped from England squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.
While announcing the squad, national selector Luke Wright also suggested that Jason Roy was being considered as first-choice reserve for the World Cup 2023 in India should there be any injuries in the top three.
However, Roy's latest stance is set to create opportunity for others. The development also hints towards a possible international retirement for Jason Roy. The explosive right-hander is expected to follow compatriot Alex Hales footprint and ply his trade in the lucrative T20 franchise circuit.
