Former India cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra picked his Test team of the year 2024, featuring three players from the Indian team, including Jasprit Bumrah and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
After scoring 1478 runs last year, Jaiswal made the opening slot, while Bumrah claimed 71 wickets to take one of the pacer's slot of Chopra's Test team of 2024 led by Australian skipper Pat Cummins.

Apart from Bumrah and Jaiswal, star all-round Ravindra Jadeja also made the cut in the former Indian opener's best team of the year. Jadeja features as the specialist spinner that can bat, while several batters who can roll their arms over have also made the list.
England's Ben Duckett, who played 32 innings and scored 1149 runs at an average of 37, has been named as the opening partner alongside Jaiswal in Chopra's Test XI of the year 2024.
The cricketer-turned-commentator then picked England's Joe Root to bat at number three followed by New Zealand's Kane Williamson and another Englishman Harry Brook to make up the top five of the batting order.
Chopra then included Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis, who had one of the best year's for a cricketer with the bat in the longest format, while Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan took the wicketkeeper slot with no other competition for the role.
Apart from Bumrah and Cummins, Chopra selected South Africa's Kagiso Rabada over England's Gus Atkinson to complete his best Test eleven of 2024. India and England made up majority of the team.
Surprisingly, only two players from the World Test Championship Finalists - Australia and South Africa, made Chopra's team of the year, while Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand also had one player each. Here is a look at the full team:
