Jasprit Bumrah to England: Don’t complain about umpiring error, ‘forget and move on’

Bengaluru, Jan 31: England might be "frustrated" with the wrong umpiring decision against Joe Root in the 2nd Twenty20 International but Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah feels such things happen in cricket and they should "forget and move on".

On Sunday, in Nagpur, India edged England by 5 runs in a last-over thriller. Root was wrongly given out LBW by Indian umpire Shamshuddin on the first ball of the final over bowled by Bumrah. (Morgan to complain against umpire)

England needed 8 to win off 6 balls but failed to reach the target as Bumrah took 2 wickets and conceded only 1 run in the last over.

Ahead of the 3rd and final T20I, the series-decider tomorrow (February 1) in Bengaluru, Bumrah was asked about England's reaction to the umpiring error and the right-arm fast bowler said it was time to "forget and move on".

"We don't really focus much on the decisions given on the field by the umpires. Sometimes, it (the decision) goes in our (India) favour and sometimes it goes in their (England) favour. That happens in cricket. So you got to move on and forget about these things," Bumrah told reporters today (January 31) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After the match, England captain Eoin Morgan had said they would complain about umpiring decisions to the ICC match referee.

"We have the opportunity to do so before the next game. Feedback on umpiring is given through the match referee. I don't see why we can't have DRS in T20s," Morgan said on Sunday (January 29).

Morgan had said the wrong decision against Root was a "hammer blow".

"(It's) very frustrating. It absolutely shifted the momentum in the 20th over. Losing a batsman (Root) off the first ball, who has faced 40 balls on a wicket that's not easy to time the ball on, is quite a bit of a hammer blow.

"It proved very costly all things considered a couple of decisions did not go our way. We still should have won the game," Morgan had said.
