Boost for Team India as ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is reportedly recovering well and could be fit in time for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan and UAE.
Bumrah sustained a back injury during the final Test of the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. The 31-year-old did not bowl for most part of the Sydney Test owing to a back issue, for which he underwent scans in Australia and on return to home.

Earlier reports emerged that the pace spearhead will miss the group stage matches of the Champions Trophy, while another report stated that Bumrah has been advised bed rest and is in danger of missing the Champions Trophy and the IPL.
However, the ace pacer laughed off the speculation about his injury with a message on social media, posting "I know fake news is easy to spread but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable."
Now, in a boost for Team India, a new report has emerged, stating Bumrah may be fit and available for Champions Trophy after all. According to a report in CricBlogger, Bumrah will begin his rehabilation this weekend at the NCA in Bengaluru and the pacer is keen on playing in the Champions Trophy.
"Bumrah is progressing well and he is expected to reach the National Cricket Academy (NCA) this weekend in Bengaluru for more medical attention," a source told CricBlogger.
"Bumrah is just fine and getting better with time. He is very eager to play the Champions Trophy and he could be included in the team on a probational basis if BCCI's medical team clears him."
The report further added that Bumrah will be closely monitored due to his injury history. The pacer will under go another scan in Bengaluru after his earlier scan in Australia was not conclusive due to swelling in the back.
The swelling in the back muscles also suggest that the injury may not have been as severe as initially feared, but NCA will be cautious in clearing Bumrah for the Champions Trophy due to the delicate nature of his rehabilitation.
