Jasprit Bumrah's return to cricket is further delayed as the Mumbai Indians bowler is set to miss first few weeks of the IPL 2025 season.
As per a report from ESPNCricinfo, Bumrah will be missing out on the first few games for Mumbai as he is yet to get clearance for return.

Bumrah is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where he is undergoing recovery and training following a stress-related back injury which ruled him out of the Champions Trophy.
The main concern for Bumrah is the area of his injury. His present injury is exactly where he underwent surgery, which stems from the bowler's unique bowling action. The NCA staff, selectors have prioritized the pacer's workload management, which often gets ignored with the increasing number of matches and series.
Jasprit Bumrah's injury return is not confirmed, but the pacer will not be in action at least till the second week of April. Mumbai Indians do have five matches in the first two weeks of the IPL 2025, which starts on March 22, and it is likely that Bumrah will miss all five matches.
MI start their campaign on March 23 with an away match against Chennai Super Kings, followed by another away tie against Gujarat Titans on March 29. Their first home match is against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 31, followed by LSG (away, April 4) and RCB (home, April 7).
With the matches coming thick and fast in the first week of April, Bumrah may not be rushed, and the star bowler may get his first game against Delhi Capitals on April 13. It would be ideal for Bumrah as he would have extended time to recuperate.
Former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond recently said another injury at the same place can be career-ending for Bumrah, which makes workload management even more imperative for him. Throughout the season, MI may leave out their lethal weapon for the greater good, especially with a five-match Test series in England just after the conclusion of the IPL season.
