Jasprit Bumrah injury update: Boost for Team India as star pacer is reportedly set to be fit and available for 'big games' in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to start from February 19.
There was a lot of cloud over the fitness of the Indian pace spearhead, who suffered an injury during the fifth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia at Sydney.

Bumrah left the field mid-way through the first innings of the Sydney Test earlier this year, and didn't bowl a single delivery for the remainder of the match as he went for scans for a reported back issue. While he missed the T20I series against England, the 31-year-old was picked in the Champions Trophy squad.
Bumrah was even expected to feature in the third match of the ongoing ODI series against England. But, skipper Rohit Sharma's comments on the team management still waiting for the scan reports, caused some concerns regarding the pacer's fitness and availability for the 3rd ODI vs England and the following Champions Trophy.
However, a report from CricBlogger may give a much-needed boost for Team India in their quest to win another ICC event trophy. According to CricBlogger, the number one ranked Test bowler is likely to be fit in time for the Champions Trophy which takes place later this month in Pakistan and UAE.
The report also added that Bumrah may only play in "big games", meaning the ace pacer may feature in important matches or the later stages of the tournament. There is still no clarity on his availability for the entire tournament.
The team management may not want to risk, playing him in the third ODI vs England, which is scheduled to be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (February 12) as the pacer will need clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Another report from Times of India earlier in the week revealed that Bumrah underwent scans for the back spasms at the NCA in Bengaluru and a fitness update will be out soon with a discussion regarding the future course of action likely to be held with the BCCI.
