Jasprit Bumrah-led India Leave For Ireland on Independence Day, Rinku Singh Among Others Pose For Pictures

The senior India men's cricket team left for the Ireland tour on Tuesday, August 15 - Independence Day. In a series of pictures posted by the BCCI, the Jasprit Bumrah-led side can be seen all smiles.

The captain, who is coming from a long injury layoff, was seen posing for the camera alongside Prasidh Krishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma and Shivam Dube were also seen all smiles ahead of the tournament.

Most of the senior players have been rested for the tour ahead of the all-important Asia Cup 2023 which kick starts from August 30. T20I captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, who were part of the West Indies T20Is, have also been rested for the Ireland T20Is. All these players are in contention for a spot in India's World Cup 2023 squad.

However, the Ireland series will be very crucial for the likes of Bumrah, Krishna and Sanju Samson. While Bumrah and Krishna have to prove their fitness, Samson will look to stay in contention for a World Cup by bringing in his A-game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma would aim to take their form to Ireland. Rinku Singh's much-awaited India debut will also be one of the highlights of the series.

The first match will be played on Friday, August 18. The second and the third T20I will be played on August 20 and August 23, respectively. The Village in Dublin will host all the three matches.
