Jasprit Bumrah narrowly skips fatal collision with Ravi Bishnoi on comeback from injury: Watch Video

Jasprit Bumrah, who made a comeback from injury on Friday after a year long hiatus, narrowly avoided a fatal collision with Ravi Bishnoi near the boundary rope during the first T20I against Ireland at The Village in Dublin.

After Curtis Campher guided a delivery towards fine leg, Bishnoi ran from backward square leg and dived later to stop the ball from crossing the boundary rope. Incidentally, Bumrah was also sprinting full-throttle behind the ball and had to jump over Bishnoi to avoid the collision.

The video of the incident has gone viral and it is giving shivers down the spines of the Indian fans despite both the players being perfectly fine. Notably, India have long awaited for their premier pacer to get fit and have played without him in last year's Asia Cup, T20 World Cup 2022 and the World Test Championship (WTC) final in June this year.

With the Asia Cup 2023 and the World Cup 2023 round the corner, the importance of Bumrah being fit is of utmost importance. The skill and temperament he brings to the table is what no other pacer in the nation can bring.

Jasprit Bumrah made a stellar comeback and picked two wickets in his very first over as the Ireland top-order collapsed. Chasing 140, India were 47/2 in 6.5 overs when rain stopped play. The visitors were declared winners by two runs as per the DLS method.

Bumrah will next be seen leading India in the second T20I on Sunday.
