Jasprit Bumrah’s Flying Grab Under The Lights Sends Kruger Packing as India Crush Namibia - Watch

By MyKhel Staff

New Delhi, Feb 12: Team India's comprehensive win over Namibia in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday (February 12) had plenty of highlights, but one moment stood above the rest - a stunning diving catch from premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah that sent Malan Kruger back and summed up India's sharpness in the field.

India registered its biggest-ever win in the T20 World Cup, in terms of runs, with a 93-run mauling of Namibia and continued their unbeaten streak in the competition.

Jasprit Bumrah s Flying Grab Sends Kruger Packing as India Crush Namibia - Watch

There were plenty of positives for the home side from the game. However, one of the highlights of the match was the stunning catch, under the lights, from Bumrah which will be remembered for a long time.

The breakthrough came in the 13th over of Namibia's daunting 210-run chase. Bowling full and just outside off, spinner Axar Patel tempted Malan Kruger into the sweep. The connection wasn't clean - instead, it ballooned high off a fat top edge towards short fine leg.

Positioned slightly away from the trajectory, Bumrah had to react quickly. Tracking the swirling ball as it drifted in the air, he backtracked and then lunged sharply to his left. With both hands stretched out, he managed to cling on with one hand as the ball swerved at the last moment.

At one point it seemed, Bumrah and fellow fielder Sanju Samson will collide but Bumrah make the call to go after the ball and finished it brilliantly. It was certainly the moment which would win him the best fielder of the match medal.

Watch:

The Indian camp erupted. Bumrah, usually composed and expressionless, broke into a wide grin. Even head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen smiling at the effort. Kruger departed for 5 off 10 balls, and Namibia slipped to 94 for 6 - effectively ending any faint hopes of a comeback.

All-Round Impact from Bumrah

It wasn't just a fielding masterclass. Bumrah also delivered with the ball. The right-arm pacer bowled two tight middle overs, conceding just six runs during a crucial phase to squeeze Namibia's scoring rate. Later, in the 17th over, he returned to produce a trademark yorker that uprooted Ruben Trumpelmann for 6.

His final figures - 4 overs, 20 runs, 1 wicket - reflected control and precision, reinforcing why he remains India's go-to bowler in pressure moments.

India's Statement Win

India's dominance was evident throughout the contest. A towering first-innings total of 210 set the tone, and the bowlers ensured there was no let-up. Bumrah's catch was more than a highlight - it was symbolic of the intensity and athleticism India brought to the field.

On a night where the top-order batting and bowling clicked, it was Jasprit Bumrah's airborne brilliance along with half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya that truly captured the crowd's imagination.
