Jasprit Bumrah Would've Ripped On Don Bradman's Peak! Ex Australia Star Heaps Huge Praise On India Pacer

Adam Gilchrist showered immense praise on India's pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah, offering the ultimate compliment for any bowler.

When asked to rate Bumrah's performance in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, the former wicketkeeper-batter remarked that even the iconic Sir Don Bradman might not have maintained his legendary Test average of 99.94 if he had faced Bumrah in his era.

This statement underscores just how highly Gilchrist regards Bumrah's skill and impact on the game.

Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding display in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he took an impressive 32 wickets and earned the Player of the Series honor despite India's 1-3 defeat, left a lasting impression on Adam Gilchrist.

"I'm not rating him; no number can match what he is in world sport. He would have torn through Bradman's peak in a matter of balls. His average would have been far below 99 if they faced each other. I'd give Bradman a mere 35 against Bumrah. No reward is high enough for him," Gilchrist said on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast.

According to reports, the Mumbai Indians man is likely to be included in the Champions Trophy squad, although his participation will depend on his recovery progress. Bumrah sustained an injury on the second day of the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The star pacer has been reportedly instructed to report to the Centre of Excellence, previously known as the NCA, in Bengaluru. The star pacer might be unavailable for the three-match ODI series against England as well as the group stage matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India are set to face New Zealand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

''Since he is injured and will report to NCA for his rehab. As of now, we are hoping that he will be fine soon but not very sure about it as far as his selection is concerned," a source close to India Today revealed.

"Selectors will take call but sources indicated that he will be in the provisional squad as subject to fitness addition. A final call will be taken soon," the source further added.
