BCCI secretary Jay Shah has revealed that the board has already shortlisted two names for the head coach role of the senior men's team, and both the head coach and selector appointments will be made soon.
After India's triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, Rahul Dravid's tenure ended as head coach. The former India captain decided not to re-apply for the job and thus Rohit Sharma and the boys are set to have a new professor.

There have been speculations regarding the head coach position in the Indian team, and now Jay Shah has revealed that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has shortlisted two names for the high-profile job. Shah also confirmed that the new coach will only join the team in the Sri Lanka series.
"Both coach and selector appointment will be made shortly. CAC has interviewed and shortlisted two names and after reaching Mumbai whatever they have decided we will go by that. VVS Laxman is going to Zimbabwe but new coach will join from the Sri Lanka series," Jay Shah said.

BCCI had an extensive search and procedure for the appointment of India's next head coach. Many applied and then went through a subsequent interview with the trio of CAC members Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe.
And MyKhel can confirm that the two names which have been shortlisted for the India job are Gautam Gambhir and WV Raman. Gambhir has been in the fray for a long time, especially after his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024. Former India women's coach WV Raman is also in the running for the job.
