BCCI secretary Jay Shah has filed his nomination for the ICC chairman role, source close to the development has told MyKhel.
The Indian administrator is the only person to have filed a nomination for the role, meaning he is now set to become the next chairman of the governing body of World cricket.

Current chairman Greg Barclay announced his wish to not renew his tenure at ICC earlier this month. Barclay's tenure as chairman ends on November 30 and the Kiwi decided to step down from his role after the expiration of his current term.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah was already in line to head ICC as his successor. The Indian is a massively influential person and has been thoroughly backed by the majority of the members to become the next ICC head. And MyKhel understands that Shah has filed his nomination in the election for Chairman, and is set to win it uncontested.
With this, Jay Shah will become the fifth Indian to head ICC. Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sharad Pawar served as ICC Presidents whereas Shashank Manohar and N Srinivasan honed their role as chairman in the past. Shah is also set to become the youngest-ever ICC chairman and his term will start from December 1.
With Jay Shah now setting his foot in the ICC, there will be a huge void in the BCCI administration. Shah, who has been playing the role of BCCI Secretary for the past few years will now relinquish his role at Indian cricket. Among various names, DDCA's Rohan Jaitley will likely be the next BCCI secretary.
