WPL Auction: Jemimah Rodrigues sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 2.2 Crore

India's talented batter Jemimah Rodrigues will be playing the inaugural WPL season with Delhi Capitals.

The Indian batter was sold to the Delhi Capitals for INR 2.2 Crore.

Jemimah is a talented batter who has risen in recent years and has become one of the key players of the Indian team.

She scored a fantastic unbeaten half-century in India's most recent T20 World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan and helped the team to get over the line.

Jemimah has played 21 ODIs and 76 T20Is for India, scoring 394 and 1628 runs respectively in those formats. The 22-year-old had a base price of 50 Lakhs in the auction and garnered interest from multiple suitors in the WPL auction table.

UP Warriorz started the bidding for Jemimah and they got involved in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals, who hadn't bought any players prior to that in the auction, were in desperate need to get hold of a player. Mumbai Indians then joined the bidding war but couldn't get Jemimah as Delhi held onto the player for INR 2.2 crore.
