Jharkhand eves thrash Assam by 10 wickets

Kolkata, Nov 24 (UNI) The Jharkhand women's team today registered an imposing win over Assam as it cruised home without the loss of a wicket in the Senior Women's Inter-State One Day Cricket championship, 2008-2009 (East Zone) here.

Batting first, Assam managed a paltry total of 121 runs for the loss of six wickets. Mandeep Kaur was the highest scorer for Assam with 32 runs.

Jharkhand bowlers Rakhi, Kanak Lata, Kavita Roy, Sunita Lodha and Asha Das had a field day with each of them scalping one.

In reply, Jharkhand faced no trouble in reaching the target as their openers Seema Singh and Moumita Chakraborty raced past the Assam total in just 28.4 overs.

Seema Singh completed her half century, while Moumita Chakraborty missed hers by just two runs as both remained not out on 56 and 48 runs respectively.
