Ranchi, Jan 19 (PTI) Jharkhand became the second stateafter Karnataka to hold Twenty-20 through franchisee, pitchinginternational cricketer and local boy Saurabh Tiwary as the''Brand Ambassador'' for the 8-day Jharkhand Premier League(JPL) beginning on March 12.
"The JPL will be organised jointly by Jharkhand StateCricket Association and Elite Sports Management (ESM). TheBCCI has permitted for the franchise bidding and taking 100players as marque," ESM Director, Nishant Dayal, told a newsconference here.
The franchise bidding would be held on February sixfor the five teams - Ranchi Rangers, Bokaro Bulls, SinghbhumShers, Dhanbad Diamond and Jamshedpur Jaanbaaz, he said.
Any corporate entity in the country could bid for aminimum of Rs 15 lakh for team during the players'' auctionthat would be taken up on February 13.
The hundred players, to be put on marque by theorganisers, would be from teams like India A, India Under-19and India Seniors (Group A), Ranji Trophy (Group B), Under-19Under-22 (Group C) and district represented players (Group D).
While the minimum auction money for players in theGroup A would be Rs two lakh, the money for groups B, C and Dwould be Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively, headded.
"Tiwary will also be available for auctioneering," heDayal added.
