'The Hundred': Revolutionary Plan By ECB

Conceived by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to redefine cricket's appeal for new and diverse audiences, The Hundred is the fastest and most innovative format of professional cricket played in the United Kingdom. The competition has grown steadily, attracting some of the heavyweights in international cricket to eight city-based franchises across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham, Southampton, Cardiff, and Bristol. An ownership restructuring has ushered in a new era for several franchises this season onwards, with Oval Invincibles rebranding to MI London, Northern Superchargers to SunRisers Leeds, and Manchester Originals to Manchester Super Giants.

The men's competition boasts an impressive lineup of international stars, including Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Rashid Khan, Heinrich Klaasen, Phil Salt, Tim David, David Miller and Harry Brook. Among the headline stories will be MI London's title defence, with the franchise entering the tournament as the reigning men's champions after lifting the trophy in each of the last three seasons.

Indian fans will also have plenty to follow in the women's competition, where several of the country's biggest names are set to feature. Smriti Mandhana headlines the Indian contingent after joining Manchester Super Giants, where she will team up with wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh. All-rounder Deepti Sharma will represent SunRisers Leeds, while Jemimah Rodrigues has been signed by Southern Brave.

The Indian presence extends across the tournament, with Kiran Navgire turning out for London Spirit, Shweta Sehrawat representing MI London, Asha Sobhana joining Trent Rockets and Nandani Sharma featuring for Welsh Fire, ensuring strong Indian representation throughout the competition.

When Will The Hundred 2026 Start?

All 68 matches of The Hundred 2026, across both the Men's and Women's competitions, will be broadcast live in India exclusively on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
