The second phase of the Ranji Trophy has started and Mumbai, the most successful team in the tournament's history, are struggling against Jammu and Kashmir.
The boys from up north have bamboozled the star-studded Mumbai squad, which has stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and stars such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer.

Rohit Sharma represented Mumbai in Ranji Trophy for the first time in almost 10 years and could only score 31 runs across two innings. Another India star Yashasvi Jaiswal has also scored just 30 runs across two innings.
Umar Nazir was the biggest troublemaker for Mumbai as he got four wickets in the first innings, including the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Yudhvir Charak, who represents Rajasthan Royals in IPL, got the wicket of Rohit in the second innings.
But another pacer, Auqib Nabi, has been the star for J&K in this Ranji season. The 28-year-old so far has picked 5 wickets across two innings, which included Yashasvi Jaiswal (1st inn) and Shreyas Iyer (2nd inn). The crafty pacer has 37 wickets in this season, the most by a pacer so far.
Auqib's control of line and length has earned accolades from the commentators and cricket analysts. But the Kashmir pacer was extremely disappointed after the conclusion of IPL 2025 mega auction. Auqib, then speaking in an exclusive interview with MyKhel, expressed his sadness.
"Honestly, it feels disappointing," Auqib said during J&K's Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament in Mumbai.
"I've been performing consistently in the Ranji Trophy and other formats. This season, I've been among the leading wicket-takers as a fast bowler in India. Five wickets in five matches is not easy, especially for a pacer. It's disheartening when such performances go unnoticed. The name was not even mentioned," he added.
But the pacer was adamant to continue his performance and let the ball do the talking. The Kashmir player has lived up to his words, playing decently in Vijay Hazare Trophy, and now has continued his upsurge in Ranji Trophy.
