JKCA to chalk out 2007-08 cricket calendar on August 5

Srinagar, July 25 (UNI) The working committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will meet here on August 5 to chalk out the calendar programme for domestic cricket activities during the forthcoming season in 2007-08 and also to discuss the position of accounts and funds of the body.

According to JKCA Honorary General Secretary Saleem Khan, Association president Farooq Abdullah has called the meeting in compliance with the High Court order of July 2 this year.

He said the meeting, to be chaired by Dr Abdullah, would discuss inter alia the state of affairs of accounts and funds of the JKCA.

It would also take appropriate decisions for ensuring proper appropriation and accountability of the JKCA accounts and funds.

The meeting would further chalk out the calendar programme for domestic cricket activities during the forthcoming season 2007-08 and measures for its implementation.

The JKCA would also discuss the issue of proposed construction of cricket stadiums in Jammu and Srinagar and also for upgrading the facilities in the existing venues at the twin capitals of the state.
