IPL 2023: Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 and will be travelling back home to focus on his rehabilitation. His compatriot Chris Jordan has replaced him in the squad.
"Chris Jordan will join the MI squad for the rest of the season. Chris replaces Jofra Archer, whose recovery and fitness continues to be monitored by ECB. Jofra will return home to focus on his rehabilitation," Mumbai Indians said in a statement on Tuesday.

The right-arm pacer missed four consecutive games before turning up against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in his home debut for Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium. However, he ended up leaking 42 runs for a wicket this time.
The 28-year-old again missed the next match against Gujarat Titans (GT) before playing three consecutive games against Rajasthan Royals (1/35), Punjab Kings (0/56) and Chennai Super Kings (0/24).
MI head coach Mark Boucher had earlier revealed "a little niggle" as the reason for missing four consecutive matches. It was also reported that he travelled to Belgium to see an expert earlier this month are reporting discomfort following MI debut.
With Ashes 2023 set to kick start from June 16, the ECB also has been monitoring his progress closely. The board even briefly sent physio Steve Griffin to India.
The 28-year-old was out of international cricket for nearly two years before making his comeback against South Africa this year. He underwent two operations after he felt discomfort in his right elbow in 2021. He then suffered a lower-back stress fracture during his rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, the five-time champions have signed Chris Jordan for the remainder of the IPL. The England quick had a base price of Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2023 auction but did not get any buyer.
He has earlier been part of RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In 28 IPL matches so far, the 34-year-old has picked 27 wickets at an average of 30.85 and an economy rate of 9.32.
MI are placed eighth in the ten-team IPL 2023 points table and find themselves in a spot of bother to make it to the playoffs. The pace unit has looked very average this season and the injury of Archer will rub salt their wound. Jordan will have a big role to play in the last four league matches of the side.
