Jonty Rhodes, the assistant coach of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), praised Ajinkya Rahane with 'Can't teach experience' post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday (March 22), after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star showed brilliant presence of mind on the field to get rid of Virat Kohli.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli played a pull shot of Mustafizur Rahman when Rahane took a diving catch at deep midwicket and quickly lobbed it towards Rachin Ravindra before sliding into the boundary ropes.

The sensational catch saw Kohli walking back to pavilion for 21 off 20, as RCB were left reeling at 77/4 in 11.2 overs. The effort from the former India vice-captain got approval from none other than fielding legend Jonty Rhodes.
"Wow, how was that awareness by @ajinkyarahane88 on the boundary for @ChennaiIPL to get rid of @imVkohli #cantteachexperience," Rhodes wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Rahane also played a key role with the bat for the defending champions CSK. He scored 27 runs off 19 balls, and partnered with Rachin Ravindra for 33 runs off 18 balls. His third wicket partnership with Daryl Mitchell accounted for 28 off 20 balls.
Rahane got a home in CSK last year after the franchise bought him at his base price of Rs 50 lakh. The experienced right-hander had failed miserably in IPL 2020, IPL 2021 and 2023, scoring 113, 8 and 133 runs respectively.
In his debut season for CSK, Rahane flourished in the top-order, scoring 326 runs in 14 matches at an average of 32.60 and a strike rate of 172.49. Rahane has once again got to a good start for CSK.
He recently endured a tough Ranji Trophy season where he registered three ducks. However, in the second innings of the final against Vidarbha, Mumbai captain Rahane scored crucial 73 runs to help his team win their 42nd Ranji Trophy title.
